My idea for this dress was to put all of the elements of timeless into one. I drew inspiration from Sarah Paulson wearing Prada at the 2018 Met Gala. I wanted to create a dress that would be wearable and effortless that also ties in a classic look.
This was my first time using lace appliques! It took at total of eight hours to cut out each lace applique and hand stitch it onto the dress. I wanted to try a new technique with the skirt instead of the average box pleat and I love the effect it gave. I picked a nude fabric behind the lace appliques to allow them to pop, the skirt is a champagne colored fabric and I tied the whole dress together by lining the top with the same champagne fabric.
